Role Overview
The Head of Group Finance and FP&A will lead the Group’s financial planning, forecasting, and performance management activities across a multi-entity, multi-currency environment. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality insight to support strategic decision-making, ensuring robust group consolidation, and providing clear, actionable analysis to the Executive team.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience of group consolidations involving foreign currency translation, advanced financial modelling, and the operation and optimisation of Sage Intacct (or similar cloud-based finance systems). They will act as a key business partner to senior stakeholders across the Group, embedding a strong performance culture and driving continuous improvement in planning and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Group Planning, Forecasting & Budgeting
Lead the Group budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning processes across all legal entities
Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet at both entity and Group level
Ensure forecasts reflect operational drivers and are aligned to strategic objectives
Group Consolidation & Foreign Currency
Lead the Group consolidation process, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated reporting
Manage foreign currency translation, including appropriate treatment of FX movements, revaluation, and translation reserves
Partner with Group Financial Controller to ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory consolidation principles
Ensure intercompany balances reconcile at group level
Manage the quarterly VAT return
Management Reporting & Insight
Deliver clear and insightful monthly management reporting packs for the Executive team and Board
Provide variance analysis against budget and forecast, leading the risks and opportunities process
Develop and track key performance indicators at Group and business-unit level
Take ownership of the Group Overheads cost base for budgeting, monthly reporting and variance analysis
Systems & Data (Sage Intacct)
Drive automation and continuous improvement in FP&A reporting and planning processes
Work closely with Finance systems and IT to enhance consolidation and reporting capability
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
Partner with the CFO, CEO, and senior leadership team on strategic decision-making
Support acquisitions, integrations, investment cases, and commercial initiatives
Prepare financial analysis and materials for Board, investor, and lender presentations
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
Significant experience in a senior FP&A role within a multi-entity group
Hands-on experience of group consolidation, including foreign currency translation
Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting capability
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
Preferred
Experience using Sage Intacct, particularly in a group consolidation environment
Background in a PE-backed, high-growth, or acquisitive business
Exposure to post-acquisition integration and system harmonisation
Qualifications
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
